New York City 22 May 2009 posted by Ville I flew to New York City on 12th of May and attended the Playful - New Finnish Design fair. The city was just as unbelievable as I remembered. There are more people in NYC than there are inhabitants in Finland... The design fair was great! The place where it was held, Meatpacking district, was something I had never seen before. Film crews, fashion photographers and paparazzies running around. Great restaurants, pubs and clubs! The exhibition went beyond my expectations. I met some really fantastic people and got some important contacts. Most important thing I noticed was that there is demand for Outo products. People got really interested in Outo and wanted to hear the story of Outo over and over again. People seemed to be most impressed by the wide product selection, quality of the materials, the colors and the individuality. Many of them said that they had never seen anything like that in NYC. Thanks for everyone who stopped by and chatted with me! If you are from NYC, there is now a place where you can buy your Outo products! Outo is dispalyed at the NY Design Week as a part of PLAYFUL- New Finnish Design. Quite an amazing opportunity! There will be eight containers filled with Finnish design at the Meatpacking District. The exhibition is held on 15-18 of May, at same time with the international contemporary furniture fair. If YOU happen to be around, come and check out the latest OUTO products and say hello! Spring came, ideas are storming! 17 Apr 2009 posted by Ville  This is what happens when the spring comes along with its bright attitude, the new spring yarns hit the market and weird ideas come together. "Hey, I ll make a first Outo interior decoration piece! I wanted it to look like a big candy or a pill, heh. And it does look sweet! It took 4 h to make and the result was totally worth it. Customer is king 03 Mar 2009 posted by Ville  Here is a picture of just another great example that can be referred to the legendary line "customer is king". When I received this order I had to think a lot. A girl wanted a laptop cover and a iPod cover with the same design as in Squared beanie. I knew right from the start that it was not going to be easy, but what I did not know was that these two items turned out to be so cool! They took heaps of time to make but man they look good! Thanks Jasmina! If you have a different or "odd" idea, do not hesitate to ask if it is doable! I love challenges. Customer is king! |
